MATTING. Wash matting in salt and water to preserve it from turning dark.

Sapolio is superior for cleansing marble stands and bureau tops. Dip an old tooth-brush in hot water, and with it make a lather of the sapolio (which can be purchased at any of the apothecaries). Eub hard and rinse in clean, cold water.
