. Beat a cupful of buttermilk until it is creamy, add to it two cupfuls of brown sugar, one of New Orleans molasses, one tablespoon of cinnamon, one of ginger, one nutmeg grated, add three well beaten eggs, a cup- ful of cream or milk, in wliich a teaspoonful of soda has been well dissolved.
